Abstracted Asymmetrical Eyewear

Asymmetrical: having parts that fail to correspond to one another in shape, size, or arrangement; lacking symmetry: Synonyms: lopsided, unsymmetrical, uneven, unbalanced, crooked, awry, askew, skew, misaligned, disproportionate, unequal, irregular, cockeyed, wonky (Oxford Dictionary)

Ummm, why would anyone want eyeglasses that don’t match up? Obviously a few over the years. The first skewed shades we found were from icons Twiggy and Annette Funicello. Both were famous back in the 1960’s. Annette was a Mousekeeter and Twiggy was a famous model.

This lopsided look was from Billy Boy Eyewear. According to Collectors Weekly: ‘BillyBoy* created his own line of surreal couture jewelry in the mid 1970’s and ’80’s, which was an international sensation, as well as jewelry for different couturiers and designers. He and his partner created the Mdvanii Doll in 1988
