Back to School Eyewear ‘Mini Me’ Eyewear From Tura

NEW YORK (2017) – Quality design starts with market research; arguably the most important phase of the creative process. So in looking at the current fashion trends in the market place, Tura discovered the “Mini-Me” trend: kids mimicking teens and adults. Many children strive to be like the individuals they admire; the cool older brother, the amazing older sister, and surely, we cannot forget Mom and Dad.  Dressing like the individuals who inspire us is naturally empowering. So what could be better than having a new frame to match your role model? Here is how we are interpreting the trend at Tura in June 2017.

In speaking with Loyedie Desir, Senior Product Manager at Tura Inc., “Designing a “Mini-Me” collection definitely takes a bit of thought. My job is to strike that balance between standing out and being different, while at the same time designing within that brand’s unique parameters.” With that goal in mind, Loyedie created three different youthful collections.

The Ted Baker Just Kidding collection is all about the modern-classic fusion. We know our kid’s frames will be worn by youthful souls, so we have combined classic shapes with vivacious Ted Baker prints. It is one way we can be sure that the smaller frames truly parallel the adult collection.

Frames: Ted Baker B954- Offered in three pastel color ways, we gave this classic girls Ted shape a youthful ‘Ted-Twist’ with fade acetates and cheerful Ted Baker patterns. Colors: Green, Rose, and Purple

Ted Baker B956 Designed with a classic metal front, paired with custom Ted Baker printed temples, this boys style perfectly fuses classic and youthful, while maintaining elements of its Ted Baker parent collection. Colors: Gun, Black, and Blue

The Lulu by Lulu Guinness Collection, it’s whimsical at heart, much like the Lulu adult collection.  You’ll find cat-eye shapes indicative of the adult collection, though rarely found in other kids’ collections. And, of course, a bubbly candy color palette brings this collection right back to a prime position in the kids’ market.

Frames: Lulu Guinness LK007; Created to emulate the adult Lulu collection, we’ve brought an adult cat-eye shape back in the kid’s realm with colorful and whimsical enamel polka dot temples. Colors: Brown, Black and Teal

Frames: Lulu Guinness LK009- This retro acetate cat-eye style is enthused by a vibrant palette, candy color custom laminations, and polka dot color blacked temporal corners and temple tips. Colors: Pink, Purple, Black, and Teal

The gx by Gwen Stefani collection is known for embodying the style of Gwen: bold in shape; distinctly fashion forward. While the Geek Chic theme remains constant, Tura rejuvenated the collection with camouflage materials and pop colors for our young trendsetter.

Frame: gx by Gwen Stefani Style GX805- For our youthful trendsetter, we’ve developed this modern girls gx style with bright camouflage temples. The frames maintain the overall themes of the gx by Gwen Stefani brand through its bold, urban shape. Colors: Navy, Black, and Brown

Frame: gx by Gwen Stefani Style GX903- This wearable urban boys shape is instantly made classic by the retro front pin dots.  Even more captivating are the colorful camouflage materials custom laminated onto the inside of the frame, make it youthful without sacrificing the brand identity of gx by Gwen Stefani. Colors: Grey, Tortoise and Black
