Every year we do a reclaimed lenses or eyewear work of art post for Earth Day. This year we scoured google up to page 12 to find some unique works that artisans over the world are creating. Here it is our annual listing of upcycled Eyewear and or eyeglass lenses works of art.

6.) SCuze Me While I Kiss the Sky by Caroline Cox includes “trawling lures, monofilament strands, mesh bags, glass lenses and crystal balls that cascade from the ceiling, and convex and concave mirrored pools that sprawl on the floor. ” Via Wake Forest Magazine.

8.) William Cordova upcycled optical lenses on it look like cardboard.
9.) Via Found on web.me.com 1,600 vintage optometry lenses. Installation by California contemporary artist Susan Sironi
10.) Sunglass lenses were used in this installation by Tatiana Ferahian. The pattern is a sunflower seed head.
11.) Costa’s produces several of these works of art reusing both the old frame and the lenses.

This was was taken at Trelissick Garden in 2010 and the art piece was part of the ‘You are Here’ exhibition that brings together site-specific artifacts designed and built to define a sense of space. Created by level two students on the BA(Hons) Contemporary Crafts course from University College Falmouth. It was made out of discarded spectical lenses and was meant to make you see the landscape differently.
