EyeCare About Breast Cancer Prevention

Up close at the Melissa Etheridge Concert

I recently attended a Melissa Etheridge concert, she played her “pink” guitar.  At the end of the tour, she will keep one for herself and the other will be auctioned on ebay with proceeds going to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation. This event got me thinking about  how many  Optical Vision Site sponsors support Breast Cancer prevention causes and the level of their involvement. Here are just a few:

A&A:

A&A Optical participated in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure on Saturday, June 11, 2011

The A&A Gang as seen on Facebook!

ClearVision Optical:

Since 2007, ClearVision Optical has teamed up with BCBGMAXAZRIA to create cause-related, limited edition sunglasses to raise funds for Susan G. Komen for the Cure®. Komen is the world’s largest grassroots network of breast cancer survivors and activists fighting to save lives, empower people, ensure quality care for all and energize science to find the cures.

Through the years, this compassionate team has raised over $150,000 for the breast cancer organization.

Hilco:

Think Pink Mini Kit by Hilco

A supporter of Breast Cancer Awareness through certain products sold.  5% of each sales goes to the BCA foundation. To date Hilco has contributed more than $15,000 to the BCA Foundation. Tell us in the comment section below what you are doing to support Breast Cancer Awareness or similar cause and we will send you one of these Lens Cleaning mini kits from Hilco.

Live Eyewear:

A team from Live Eyewear participated in American Cancer Societies Relay for Life in May and raised over $2500 during this event plus they do fundraising all year. For example their team captain held a yard sale to raise funds, had a silent auction, sold Luminaria bags to remember loved ones who lost their battle with cancer, or to honor those currently battling the disease and asked for donations from our family, friends and coworkers.

McGee Group:

Courage, compassion, commitment. These words define the fight against breast cancer and serve as the pledge for The Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer. The McGee Group is proud to contribute a portion of the proceeds from all Vera Bradley Eyewear sales to the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer and breast cancer research. The newest sunglass collection includes three new styles: Beth G., Joanie B., and Lisa B. Each frame comes with a Twirly Birds in Pink coordinating case, the Vera Bradley Foundation’s latest breast cancer awareness pattern.

Komen Race For The Cure, Sacramento Valley, May 7,2011. He also said that “We’re expecting it to be a very good sales year for the Lacey and we’ve committed to no less than a $10,000 contribution in 2011.”

MY life. A year ago my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer and my world had seemed to completley stop. Fortunatley, she was able to have surgery, radiation and couragesly went through chemotherapy and now is in remission. Since her battle, I have made it a point to make any donation I can afford to help fight not only breast cancer, but all cancers. This weekend my whole family is walking in a 24 hour cancer walk to help raise awareness and raise money. As a family we will be walking the first lap together, and I am so thankful my mother will be right by my side as we cross the finish line!
